As part of the capstone course curriculum, I got hands-on experience in creating news packages, writing digital stories, conducting interviews, producing a news show, editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop, creating content for social media, anchoring, and being a weather reporter. I worked with the class and news crew to ensure quality weekly live productions that represented the California State University Fresno newscast.

Working at the District Attorney’s Office in Fresno enhanced my professionalism, my ability to work with a team, meet deadlines, and grew my appreciation for justice and the legal field. I worked in the felony unit and as an assistant to the Public Information Officer.
Job duties: writing content for our agency discovery newsletter, conducting interviews with office staff, attending events and press conferences to photograph and provide content for our social media platforms, creating and editing videos and images in Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop/Lightroom, writing press release, photography, observing court proceedings, reviewing police reports and other legal documents, transcribing 911 calls.

Dennis Morgigno graduated from the Fresno State Journalism Department in 1975 and was a news anchor at KSEE-24 until 1978 when he moved to NBC News in San Diego. He created a scholarship for Fresno State journalism students in 2022.
